The Phoenix School of Massage and Holistic Health in Houston is a state approved school offering quality education in the healing arts. Established in 1986, the eighth school registered in the state, we are now one of the longest running schools in Texas. We have two campuses, Southwest and Northwest, in the Houston area. In our two decades, we have graduated numerous professionals to the rewarding field of Therapeutic Massage.

What does "Holistic" Mean?

In studying massage and bodywork from a "holistic " aspect, we take the whole person into consideration not just their aches and pains. Holistic Massage^sm, developed at the Phoenix Massage Therapy School in Houston, Texas, is an integral part of this holistic protocol. Holistic Massage^sm develops a massage plan precisely tailored to the client's constitution. Outstanding results are experienced by the client. Holistic Massage^sm is published in major journals of massage and bodywork including The Encyclopedia of Bodywork. What do we teach?

The Phoenix Massage Therapy School in Houston, Texas School offers the basic 500 hour course for license in massage therapy plus an excellent continuing education program. In the program, you will receive instruction in both traditional and classical Swedish massage technique as taught by Pehr Henry Ling. The many wonderful modalities you will learn are Swedish Massage, Sports Acupressure, Shiatsu, Pregnancy Massage, Business/Ethics, CPR, and Hot Stone therapy among others.

Special emphasis in the basic course is placed on Massage Body Mechanics^sm. Massage Body Mechanics^sm is the necessary ingredient for giving massage in a stress free manner. There is simply nothing better anywhere else! Massage Body Mechanics^sm was developed at the Phoenix School of Massage and Holistic Health in Houston and comprises the chapter, "The Science of Table & Body Mechanics," in the current edition of Massage Therapy: Principles & Practice (by W.B. Saunders Publishing Co.). This book is now the largest selling text on Massage Therapy.
